Our Community Involvement in Groveport

We’re proud to be a part of the Groveport community, and want to do everything we can to support the people, pets, and organizations that share this community with us and make Groveport a wonderful place to live. We encourage our clients to get involved with local fundraisers, events, and seminars to promote pet health education and build lasting relationships.

Community Involvement in Groveport, OHGroveport Canal Animal Hospital participates in and donates to child safety events with the Groveport police department, and the Annual Swim with the Mutts event at the local Groveport pool. We also work with Friends For Life Animal Haven in Canal Winchester, a no-kill, non-profit, all-volunteer organization that promotes spaying and neutering to reduce pet overpopulation. Other events we love taking part in include the Groveport Lion’s Club Halloween Community Block Party and Groveport Apple Butter Day.

Dr. Shapiro is also dedicated to the Festival of Friends fundraiser, which supports the Friends For Life Animal Haven. Dr. Shapiro and founder Mary Lou Kunkler established the organization and its 401-3C status in 1991. Dr. Shapiro served on the Board of Directors for 14 years.

In addition to helping pets, we love to help people, too! Our very own Dr. Shapiro has volunteered with Jewish Family Services to provide free produce for refugees and other low-income community members at the New American Coalition Produce Market.

Our veterinarians also love to visit elementary schools to discuss veterinary medicine, animal safety, and Career Day. We love teaching children about respecting and caring for pets, and sparking interest in the veterinary profession. To further educate our community, we hold pet health seminars at the Groveport Town Hall and Columbus Metropolitan Library.

Additionally, clean pets are happy pets, so we volunteered at the Pet Bath-a-Lon at Easton Animal Hospital! Christina and Becky took the time to be there and help you keep your pet clean and healthy! All the proceeds for the event went to benefit pets of the homeless.
